Instruction to Applicants

Instruction to Applicants

Nordic Quest College is a private institution of education and we offer education & training programmes certified by external partners in Finland and The UK. Know more about us here.

All our existing programmes including the Diploma Programmes, Educational Tour & Camp School packages as well as customised & on-demand training programmes in pedagogical & educational leadership & management are less than 90 days programme packages. Therefore, one can simply attend Nordic Quest College programmes with a Schengen Tourist Visa.

Acceptable reasons for granting visa can be further studies to supplement vocational skills or degrees already acquired, further training relating to work done in the country of departure, or special training available in Finland, such as training provided within the framework of Finnish education export initiatives. Our Diploma/Training Programmes as well as Finland Educational Tour Packages fall under this category.

Nordic Quest College can also deliver those programmes in clients' home countries or online in the form of live interactive video seminars from Finland depending on our clients’ needs and service requests.

Application Process - Step By Step Guide (For Diploma Programmes)

Requirements for Schengen Tourist Visa Application

Non EU applicants, who are admitted to the Finland Educational Tour & Training Programmes at Nordic Quest College, will require having a Schengen Tourist Visa. Therefore, before applying please ensure that you fulfil the following requirements as stated in the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, as well as the general minimum entry requirements for admission in our Diploma Programmes, Educational Tour Packages and Camp School Programmes.

  1. The visa application form - completed and signed
  2. Visa fee (also for a negative decision)
  3. One photograph: Include a colour photograph from which you are recognizable. Please visit the Police website for guidance.
  4. A passport: Make sure your passport is valid for at least three (3) months after the end of your intended travel and that it has been issued no later than ten (10) years ago.
  5. Travel insurance: Your travel insurance must be in force for the period of the validity of the applied visa and cover the entire Schengen area. The minimum coverage of the policy must be EUR 30,000 and the insurance must cover expenses arising from a sudden illness and accident (also the patient's repatriation) and repatriation expenses in case of death.
  6. Proof of sufficient financial means: The applicant must have proof of sufficient financial means to cover the duration and purpose of the stay and the cost of living in Finland.
  7. Supporting documents: As the required appendices vary by country, contact the mission to make sure which ones you need. The mission may request that you append certain documents to the application to show the purpose, conditions and duration of the visit. Examples of such documents are tickets, a confirmation of hotel reservation etc.
  8. Official Invitation/Admission Letter from the host organization: The invitation/admission letter is a free-form letter (document) indicating the host organisation’s contact details and the invited/admitted person's details, such as name, date of birth, address, passport number, and purpose and length of visit, study/training programme etc.
  9. Parental consent is required for minors (for example school children): Unaccompanied minor children need a parental consent for their travel.
  10. Visa Interview: The embassy of Finland, Finnish consulate or Finland Visa Application Centre may also ask you for a personal interview to find out about the purpose of your visit.

Please read about the procedures for participation in our Educational Tour Packages & Camp Schools Programmes here.

    Financial Security & Insurance Needs

It is the applicants' responsibility to ensure that they have sufficient financial resources for living in Finland for the duration of their study/staying in Finland. Therefore, before deciding to apply for visa, make sure that you have enough funds for the entire period of your staying in Finland.

Please read carefully the official invitation letter and the included attachments from Nordic Quest College to know what it covers from the programme fee that you have paid and determine accordingly the other possible per day costs that are not included in the programme fee.

As an international person outside the European Union or European Economic Union, you must personally cover the costs if you become ill in Finland. In order to get a Schengen Tourist Visa, you must therefore take out private insurance that will cover your medical expenses. The insurance you need depends on the duration of your staying in Finland. If you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), you do not need to take out insurance.

For the Schengen Tourist Visa application, you can take out insurance from an insurance company in your home country. Alternatively, you may also take suitable insurance from an international insurance company. Please  confirm from the local Finnish embassy/consulate office or Visa Application Center for the right kind of travel medical insurance policy that you need.

    Refund Policy

Applicants who have paid the tuition fee for the programme at The Nordic Quest College but get a negative decision on their visa/residence permit application and cannot come to Finland will be entitled for a full refund; except for the non-refundable application fee and subsequent bank commission charges.

The money shall be transferred to the verified bank account provided by the applicant within 1 month after we have received the official information about the negative visa decision.

Nordic Quest College normally arranges accommodation service to our clients in hotels (twin bedrooms) or 3 -6 persons in cottege like facilities.

Applicants who have confirmed their acceptance of the study placement and positive decision on visa application will be provided with detailed information about the food and accommodation arrangements among other things in the 'Official Invitation Letter' and other supportive attachments.
